A favorite hymn of the Latter-day Saints supplicates Christ for His help in "every hour." And while that's certainly true, how is it true? Are we such sinners that we need constant access to Christ's Atonement? Or is there something more to the Atonement, something in addition to forgiveness for our sins? What help does Christ offer in moments when we may not need His forgiveness but do need help beyond our own capacities? We know Christ's Atonement can save us from death and sin, but we may not always remember that we can draw on His Atonement for help in other ways.
In Christ in Every Hour, gospel educator Anthony Sweat explores six of Christ's divine powers, explaining what they mean, why they're relevant, and what they can do for us as we live life each day. Discover more about Christ's power to cleanse, heal, restore, identify with, strengthen, and transform us, and learn how to draw upon the Lord's grace and power in every hour of your life. Which power of Christ's Atonement do you need today? Or in this very hour?

I loved how Anthony Sweat articulated the layered nuances of developing a relationship with Christ, especially through the companionship of the Holy Ghost. The exercises listed were helpful in cementing concepts experientially. I LOVED THIS BOOK and have recommended it to friends and family.
This is a really good book for people who haven't studied much into Christ's atonement yet. Because there is a lot of skepticism in in in regards to the atonement of Jesus Christ found herein. I'm of the opinion that "I don't know" is not a good place to write from and leads to a lot of speculation which is what seemed to be displayed here. I was a bit bothered to by the fact that he seemed to state things like the beginning and ending of Christ atonement without being certain and contradicting the fact that it neither began at his birth or ended at his death.
I felt that it was somewhat faith diminishing how he emphasized the aspects of Christ's Mortal half over his glorious godly half.
Brother Sweat is clever and one can see that he has a clear knowledge of the scriptures (which is to be expected from an S&I religious educator) however I wasn't wowed by any new insight shared.
I recognize one can't know everything there is to know about the atonement of Christ all at once and I appreciate Brother Sweats efforts in sharing what he does know and I would prefer that one states that they honestly don't know over trying to speculate about something they don't because I feel like my time is being wasted otherwise. I don't like made up truths that satisfy the mind for a time yet are not pure enough to penetrate the heart. I like truths that can hit both spots at once and be as true today as they'll be tomorrow and henceforth and forever. However I think this is probably a good listen once someone has listened to so many other powerful truths that they can't take anymore straight up truth for now and they need to stimulate their mind to help it remain pure for the time being.
I just was filled by reading this book. I found powerful insights all over the place. I started with the audio version and kept rewinding because it was so awesome I just wanted to hear it again. I've read tons on the life and application of the Savior and His life. This is as insightful as any. Easy to understand analogies and examples. Worth your "every hour" you put into it! Because Christ is in every page.
