This is a lovely collection of holiday Regency novellas! It definitely put me in the holiday spirit, and it was fascinating to learn some of the traditions of the era for celebrating Christmas. There's something special and even magical about the Christmas season and I think it enhances the connections and emotions of the characters. The romance in each story is sweet and even though the couples had various obstacles to overcome (some with excessive angst), the happy endings left me with a smile on my face. I'm a fan of Jennifer Moore and Chalon Linton, and was excited to read two new-to-me authors. I'm looking forward to reading more of their other books.

This was the perfect week to read this new book, A Christmas Courting:A Regency Christmas Collection. Things have been so busy that it was nice to pick the book up and read one of the novella's during my lunch time of 35 minutes. It also was wonderful to read another Christmas story in October. It's making me so excited for Christmas. All of these stories have great characters with some problems along the way, but they all end with a sweet, romantic twist. This clean collection can be read in one sitting, but it will also be great to save this book to read slowly throughout the busy month of December. If you love reading a Christmas Romance, you'll love this book where you'll get four wonderful stories for the price of one.
A CHRISTMAS COURTING is a collection of charming stories full of family, romance, and holiday traditions all set in historical England around Christmastime. The characters were all quite likable and the romances sweet. For sweet romance novella collection fans, this is definitely one to add to your collection!
LOVE AND JOY COME TO YOU by Jennifer Moore: This was probably my favorite story from the collection. I loved how the characters surprised and challenged each other. I also loved the way the children in this story were portrayed and the part they played. The meddling ladies were fun as well. However, my favorite parts were between the main characters and the sweet romance that develops. A story that is definitely worth a re-read.
A CHRISTMAS COURTING by Chalon Linton: This was super cute! The heroine and her sister are the bubbly, dramatic type, but genuine. Reminded me a little of Austen's Emma with Keturah's back and forth emotions. An enjoyable read.
MISTLETOE MEMORIES by Jen Geigle Johnson: This story was one in the collection that I felt had more of an emotional pull. I appreciated that the author let her characters deal with some mistakes and repercussions that felt authentic to the time, but also work through them as they fought for their happily-ever-after. I could see where this could have been a full-length novel on its own with more development, but enjoyed this in novella form as well.
SECOND-CHANCE CHRISTMAS by Heidi Kimball: I love friends-to-love stories and this one was a fabulous example of that! I loved the camaraderie and the competition between these two characters. I enjoyed their history and how that comes to play in their relationship changing. I also liked how the heroine comes to realize her feelings and the way the hero dashes off to find her. Loved this one!
In the end, was it what I wished for? I thoroughly enjoyed this collection! It's perfect for the Christmas season, or any time you're looking for romance with a little mistletoe magic. Readers will love the characters and stories and enjoy the contented feeling at the end. It left me with feelings of happiness and warmth, and a smile.

I love the cover of this book! It makes me want to curl up in front of a fireplace with hot chocolate and read all day. Sadly, I had to read most of the book on an airplane, so my comfort level wasn't great. Luckily the novellas helped the flight go by faster.
The stories are well-written. Three of the four include couples with some sort of prior relationship, so the romances don't feel extremely rushed.
Love and Joy Come to You included a totally new relationship, and while it was fast, it was written in such a way that I wasn't put off by the speed. I liked the characters and their interactions.
Christmas Courting is an enjoyable story, although I was held up by the name Keturah. It didn't feel like it fit the time period (although maybe it is authentic, but uncommon). I felt bad for Keturah as her heart was jerked around, but I liked the happy ending.
Mistletoe Memories was a fun read. I was thrown a few times by the flashbacks as nothing broke them up (i.e. a symbol on the page or italicized font), but I got used to that or they lessened. I could understand Patrick's hurt, but I did wish he'd tried earlier on to find out what had happened with Alice instead of assuming the worst of her.
Second-Chance Christmas is a story about almost losing love when the main character didn't realize it had been in front of her for quite some time. Gerard's poor heart was jerked around, but it was great to read about him getting his happy ending.
This collection is clean and a fast read. I would read more from each author.

Ooh, if you are looking for Christmas romance, you don't want to miss this collection! All four of these novellas are utterly charming. I loved how in each one of them, the romance came as a surprise and changed the feeling of melancholy to a feeling of joy and happiness. It was so satisfying! What a great bunch of authors!
The Christmas/holiday/winter spirit is strong in these stories. There is ice skating, caroling, sledding, yule logs, mistletoe, dancing, Christmas decorating and even plum pudding! This book will definitely get you feeling the holiday spirit and aren't holiday romances just extra magical? I think so.

Sometimes I wish for more with collections because I get swept away by a story and it's just not long enough. However, each story in this set is perfect because each book delivers a sweet, tender morsel of romance and goodness, but they're not overwhelming long, which is great since the holidays are a busy time of the year. They're perfect for the season and will get you in the mood for Christmas. And an added bonus--they're all equally good! I can't choose a favorite because they're all on par with each other, each delivering a truly charming tale.
There is a slight feeling of melancholy for many of these characters, as they are all going through something difficult. But the magic of Christmas and love brightens up their lives and gives each story such a happy feeling. If you love Christmas and Regency, you're sure to love this one!
Content: mild romance

I love collections like these! Each of the stories is quick and easy to read. And each of these happen to have a Christmas theme. This whole book put me in the mood for the Christmas season!
Love and Joy Come to You by Jennifer Moore is the first story in this book. I loved this one! Lord Covington is a great character, but Cassie’s siblings really kind of stole the story in this one. I loved how they were always there, and always just a bit quirky. And even better, Lord Covington, Graham, learns their quirks and by the end of the story, he’s watching out for each of them.
Cassie was a great character too. I can’t imagine being the main care giver for my 3 younger siblings. But that’s what Cassie had to do the year before when her parents were both killed. She didn’t even get her season. So sad. I loved the way this one turned out!
A Christmas Courting by Chalon Linton is next. I loved Keturah in this one. She’s not sure about having Christmas in London, until she realizes that Christopher will be there also. Keturah has been in love with him forever. But this year, he’s planning to get engaged…and he wants her opinion on the best way to do things. She’s uncertain how to make him look her way.
I loved the way this story went. The reader sees things only from Keturah’s point of view, making everything Christopher does a surprise for the reader as well. I loved this one!
Next up is Mistletoe Memories by Jen Giegle Johnson. There are so many great things about this one! I loved the characters, the plot, and the huge misunderstandings on both sides. You see things from both Patrick’s and Alice’s point of view in this one. That’s a good thing, otherwise the reader would have no idea what was happening.
I loved Patrick. He’s returned to London from the Continent. When he left, he felt his whole life plan was set. But now that he’s back, everything he ever thought has been turned upside down. all because Alice married another.
Alice on the other hand, never got married. And she’s not very happy that Patrick didn’t come for her. I loved the way that the author of this one hid a lot of what really happened, even from the reader until near the end. That makes the whole story more fun!
Last, but not least, is Second Chance Christmas by Heidi Kimball. She’s a new author and I really liked her debut story in this one. Can’t wait for her first novel next year!
This one’s about Francie and Gerard. Gerard proposed to Francie four months before the story opens. She turned him down. He left, but now he’s back. But he didn’t come back alone. And that makes Francie realize that she really does care for him.
I loved the way Francie and Gerard are so competitive with the other. But that part does cause complications. Gerard is always saving Francie from something. The two really do complement each other so well.
I loved each and every one of these stories!
I really enjoyed this collection of Christmas stories. I have read things from all but one of the authors and found that these stories we equal to their other books. Each couple was fun to follow through their journey. I didn't feel like I missed out on anything, although it's always nice to have more with characters you enjoy being with. I loved how some of the others referenced characters from other novels. It felt like an addition to that particular novel. It was a delightful addition to Christmas love stories and a great way to begin the crazy holiday season. I would highly recommend it.
