With so much music out there that is neither inspirational, nor uplifting, these 3 talented artists have created such a delightful collection of toe-tapping songs that have inspiring messages with tonalities that speak to a modern listener. What a great CD to have in one's collection for those days where you just need a musical pick-me-up. They sing the praises of our Father in Heaven without being cheesy and preachy. It's so fantastic! A great CD to have in the car for carpools, or youth activities!

The first time I listened to Come Alive by Mercy River, I loved the harmonies and catchy tunes. With any music, I love to sing along with the alto line. But during the third song, I couldn’t sing because . . . well, I cried. Music that touches my heart does that to me. “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us,” brought me to tears almost as much from the layered vocals and haunting Celtic violin-laced arrangement as from the lyrics. Then I was fine for the next few songs, enjoying the melodies and picking out the harmony lines, feeling alternately happy, inspired, jazzed, and ready to tackle the world.
Since I was driving a long distance, I immediately replayed the album and tried to listen closer to the words. The second time around, “Walk You Through the Night” got to me with the whole mother/child/forever family theme. Tears again, followed by more picking out harmonies, until “Holy Ground” made me cry, followed by more inspiration. The album ends with a fun rendition of “Walking on Sunshine.” I tried to replicate the “whooping” sound—you’ll know it when you hear it. On the way back home, I replayed the album multiple times and never got tired of it. Since then, I’ve listened to the CD every time I go somewhere, and I’m still not tired of it.
What would I improve? During certain songs (to my hearing), the lower lines could be strengthened to better accent the awesome melodies. That’s all. A matter of playing up the harmony a bit more because, if my ears don’t deceive me, Mercy River is all about harmony. I’ve loved their blend ever since I first heard them at Time Out for Women.
In Come Alive, the accompaniment was also impressive. It varied as much as the vocals and supported the themes to perfection. In fact, Come Alive has an awesome mix of moods and vocals for almost any occasion. I don’t think I’ll ever take it out of my CD player—until the next album comes out. 5 stars because I'm not ready to create more stars.

The first time I listened to Come Alive I wasn't sure about the first couple of songs. They are definitely more of a Christian Pop, but then there was Walk You Through The Night, which I immediately recognized as a Cherie Call song and loved. That was followed by two more poppier songs. I actually really liked Move. I'm planning on adding it to my pop/rock list on my iPod. Then I got to Holy Ground, which was so inspiring, and Restless, which I LOVED. It definitely made me want to sing along. Then I also really loved Reason For the World, another inspiring song, and Walking On Sunshine, which was just fun.
By the third time through all the songs that were just so-so for me (most of the poppier ones) the first time around really began growing on me and the songs I loved, I loved even more. I am definitely foreseeing me listening to this a lot with my daughter and singing along.
Overall this was an enjoyable album and one I will be re-listening to and sharing with my family and friends. I think it will be growing on me even more as I re-listen to the songs over time. If you like this type of music (some Christian Pop mixed with softer, more inspiring songs), then I would definitely recommend it!

I love music! I especially love upbeat, wholesome music like the kind from Mercy River. I'm going to be on the lookout for more from this talented trio. We listened to this CD as a family and everyone had a favorite.
Walk You Through The Night was definitely a song that resonated with me and I was pleased when my 10 year old daughter asked to hear it again and again.
If you're looking for some new music that is beautiful and inspiring, I'm sure you'll like Mercy River.

I was given this cd for review and so far I am on the 5th time listening to the CD. I am enjoying it. It has a nice mix of songs. My favorite is Move the tune is catchy and makes you want you to move wit it.
Walk You Through the Night is a pretty lullaby song
Walking on Sunshine is a old familiar song that sounds just as great today as in the past.
There is a few uplifting Christian songs. Overall it is a good positive cd. That anyone can enjoy.
You don't have to worry about any foul language or lyrics.

Mercy River music always makes me feel great and close to my Savior. This CD reminds me that the Savior thinks I'm "beautiful, wonderful, glorious," and life is unpredictable but He has a plan, so stick with Him. We need to be reminded of that daily to fight evil. Mercy River music is great for any age (I'm 50-something) and I would buy this as a gift for anyone. Moms will love the song about mothers raising their children. And the CD ends with "Walking on Sunshine" so you'll go dancing through your day!
