Matt's hands balled in frustration. . . . He couldn't even acknowledge that he knew the dark-haired beauty down the street — much less that he was married to her. . . . He had walked into this marriage knowing full well that he would be married to a woman in the Witness Protection Program, and that they would have to spend their first year of marriage pretending they didn't know each other.
But little do CJ and Matt know the extent of the danger and loneliness that will haunt their lives. A world-class swimmer with Olympic aspirations, CJ faces overwhelming odds that threaten to drown all her hopes and dreams. Will the deep end prove to be a dead end for CJ and Matt?In a story where reality is as tentative as the waters of competition, and happiness is as elusive as the forces of evil that conspire to end all their dreams, CJ and Matt's race for safety becomes a marathon of fear.
I have read all of Traci's books and I find that when I start reading I need to start in the morning because I cannot put her books down...What a great author, she takes you in on the first page...Love Love her books
It was extremely well ritten and I felt like I was reading a mainstream novel except that the characters had LDS standards. Not only did I get so absorbed in the book that I read it one day, I went back two days later to read it again because I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. This is definitely one of the best books I have read in a long time, both in the mainstream and in the LDS market. , I can see why it is a Whitney Award nominee!
The Deep End was definitely worth the wait! I loved Traci's other books (Undercurrents and Ripple Effect) so I bought this as soon as I saw it was out. Was it ever money well spent! , The book is a fun combination of suspense, sports and romance. I really enjoyed seeing the swimming side of things as CJ pursued her goals of making it to the Olympics. I also had fun seeing how the relationship progressed between Matt and CJ as they tried to overcome so much to be together. , This is definitely a must read!
Since I first read 'Undercurrents' (2004), the first book of this 3 book series, then 'Ripple Effect', and finally 'The Deep End', I have been intrigued, inspired, and impatiently waiting each novel to be printed. Traci Abramson has become my favorite author. She has a gift that captures her readers from page one to the end. Even though the books are suspenseful, they are also very inspiring and a great read. I hope to see many more novels from this talented author. I have shared these books with younger siblings,my parents and friends. My father read then out of order but was so intrigued he did a reread of the 3 novels in order. They are books that merit more than one reading and our family owns all three books on CD and paperback. Great, great books.
