I loved this book. It was well researched and examples really inspire one to realize how dreams and/or visions can really guide and instruct our lives. When I read it someone had had a dream and the book helped to validate dreams as a wonderful tool to receive personal revelation. Thank you! Well written.
I am studying with the missionaries. I found this book on the membership audio books and I am almost done. It shows how God works and that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It is a witness to those that doubt that LDS is not the restored church. Every person that is researching and finding truth, that it is in fact the truth. It’s about putting faith even when one doubts.
I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!! I am telling everyone about it. Every chapter is filled with wonderful faith building stories. The chapter on Dreams of the Savior is by far the most precious and sacred. The other excellent chapters are Dreams of Missionary Work, Dreams of Family History, Dreams of Warning, Dreams of Opposition, and Dreams of Callings. Each dream is from a prophet, apostle or has been published by the Church. I want everyone to experience this book. It has got the best stories I've ever heard and each one can be used in a talk, devotional or as part of lessons and classes. The stories make excellent faith promoting dinner conversation as well. It is a treasure! I've listened to it once and we are about to go on a family road trip so the whole family will get the experience. I am going to buy a hard copy to have for talks and lessons. It has made me aware of my own dreams and more conscious of the subtle influence of spiritual promptings and messages between sleep and wakefulness. Thank you to the authors and DB for making this available, it has made a difference in my life.
Good book, not excellent though . I wish it had been a different reader. The voice of the reader made it monotonous, and I agree it got “dry” in the middle. Again a different reader might have made it more Interesting. Lots of dreams. Very informative. Nicely divided into categories.
I really really enjoyed the first several chapters, the middle honestly gets a bit dry, but if you do not try to read it all in one setting I think you will get more out of it. I would recommend this book, it is worth buying. The book is written toward an adult audience, they would get the most out of it.
Reading this book provided beautiful insights into better understanding how the Lord can use dreams to comfort, warn, prophecy, instruct, and strengthen testimony. I feel that this topic is not often discussed as a way that people can receive personal revelation. I appreciated the numerous faith-promoting examples of Church leaders as well as other faithful men and women who experienced sacred dreams, many of which I had never read about before. So grateful I came across this and to now have it as a resource for my family.
Many faith promoting stories of wonderful dreams spanning a variety of topics. Amazing to see the hand of the Lord in the lives of average people as well as beloved church leaders past and present. Highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
I appreciated the way that the dreams were divided into different chapters by topic. My favorite chapters were Dreams of the Savior and Dreams of Missionary Work and Conversion.
Reading the accounts of these many different kinds of revelatory dreams has led me to examine my own dreams and appreciate the times in my life when I have received instruction and comfort through dreams.
