Drops of Gold
Layton Jonquil is a man tormented by the lies surrounding the death of his late wife, but he cannot deny his growing attraction for the beautiful governess whose goodness and optimism have touched his dormant heart. Their connection grows ever stronger, and despite the impropriety of harboring feelings for a servant, Layton's heart whispers that this is the woman he's destined to love. But when Layton's fears about the past become too much to bear and the falsehoods in which they are entangled threaten to shatter his and Marion's blossoming attachment, will true love conquer all?

Possibly my favorite of Sarah M. Eden's books. Nicely paced and well-written, I loved both of the main characters--and especially the way their backgrounds bring so much depth to the story. The romance is engaging and believable, and I loved the relationship between Marion and the little girl. I had to smile every time I read the name Flip. Eden does a great job researching her facts, and she really brings Regency England to life in an enjoyable and accessible way. Sometimes Regency Romances try too hard to sound Austenesque, but Eden adds just enough authentic language to keep the setting real without detracting from the story. Anyone who is a fan of Jane Eyre will love this book!

I LOVE Sarah Eden's writings!
Her characters banter with each other as a humorous way to flirt...
For you see...
The girl likes the guy...but thinks the guy doesn't like her.
When in fact the guy likes the girl...but thinks the girl doesn't like him.
So FUN to read!
It makes you want to see them get together all the more :)
Marion, or Mary as she decided to be called, has been hired on a governess to Miss Caroline...
Layton, is still grieving the loss of his wife...but finds himself joyful when he is around Mary.
But it is improper for the Lord of the house to marry the child's governess...
Can they find a way...
Filled with love and romance and humor-- A must read for anyone who believes in "happily ever afters."

Great fun! Layton and Marion are the perfect tortured and misunderstood characters. Little Caroline was a delight! Readers of Sarah M Eden will love catching up with yet another Jonquil brother.
