I so appreciate this book! I wish I had it when I was mission age, but it’s still as relevant to me now as it would have been then. What a refreshing addition to the Deseret Book Store.
I finished reading Early Homecoming and it is phenomenal! Missionaries who return early for any reason, their parents, leaders, and those who love them will especially benefit from reading this book. Included are scholarly quotes, insights and instruction by church leaders, and scriptural references. I loved how this book is so applicable to other challenges and disappointments we experience in life as well. We all experience feeling judged, or needing to refrain from judging. We all need to forgive others (and ourselves), and we all grieve throughout our lives. We all are finding our way and choosing daily whether we will move towards our Father in Heaven or away from him. We all need to find the strength and insight to accept ourselves just as we are, no matter what that looks like, and to embrace the acceptance and understanding our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ always offer us. Kristen's writing is a beautiful combination of research, insights, and inspiration that will serve to uplift all who read Early Homecoming: A Resource for Early-Returned Missionaries, their Church Leaders, and Family.
