Favorite Family Recipes started as a way for four sisters to swap favorite recipes—but they were too delicious to keep to themselves! This tantalizing cookbook features more than 175 recipes that have been created, tested, and shared within the extended family circle. Put a smile on your hungry family's faces with these tasty, easy-to-prepare, home-cooked recipes. With downhome dishes like "Chicken Pot Pie Crumble" and tasty "Easy Cheesy Biscuits," and delicious variations on family favorites like tacos, pizza, and breakfast classics, you'll find food both the grown-ups and the kids will enjoy—and even some the kids can make themselves. When it's time to change things up a bit, choose from exotic-tasting dished like "Chicken Massaman Curry," "Caribbean Kabobs," or crunchy "Pai Mai" salad, all without having to venture far beyond your favorite grocery store for the ingredients. You may even want to take things outside with sizzling recipes for the grill and Dutch oven. And don't forget dessert. With dozens to choose from, including "Rocky Road Candy" and "Sopapilla Cheesecake," you're sure to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth. As a bonus, the sisters have added their versions of famous dishes from Wingers, Rumbi Island Grill, Cafe Rio, and a dozen other hotspots. Whether for holidays, special days, or everydays, these tempting recipes will soon become your family's favorite recipes!
My wife and I got this cookbook for Christmas and we love it! So far we have tried about 20 recipes out of it, and all of them have impressed us. I usually don't cook much, but now that we have a new baby I have had to cook more and more. This cookbook has made me look good. The recipes are well explained, use simple ingredients, have lots of beautiful pictures and most of all the end product is delicious! I think the back story of this cookbook reveal why the recipes are consistently good. It wasn't assembled over a short period to be a cookbook or blog entry, but rather started out as a hobby between sisters looking for good recipes. And the quality of the recipes show this.
The cookbook also has lots of Cafe Rio recipes which we are excited to try out since Cafe Rio is no longer as close to us as we would like.
The book itself is well made and even though the description says it's hardbound, it really has an inner spiral binding so that it lies flat. Something that all cookbooks should have.
We haven't had this cookbook long but we know that this one is a keeper. Here is why we love it...
*Pictures for every recipe
*Uses practical ingredients that we normally have on hand
*Recipes are foolproof, you do not have to be Chef to understand or follow them
You will not regret getting this for your home...
