There are many things we can do to help our children prepare for the temple- we can set an example by attending, we can have an image of the temple displayed in our homes, we can talk about the joy the temple can bring to families…. And we can share this book with them.
Cami Evans and Jennifer Tolman have combined to create a new way to teach about the temple. From children born in the covenant to those who are preparing to be sealed to parents, the modest and meaningful teachings in this book are a delightful way to introduce temple symbolism into a child’s life. Through uncomplicated words and illustrations, the light of the temple, God’s love and so many other gospel principles shine through making this a truly remarkable book.
The artwork has a timeless feel, reminding me of classic illustrations that are elegant in an uncomplicated way. The words are pure and easy to understand—and make looking for temple symbolism fun and meaningful all at once.
I was given an advance copy of this book and fell in love with it. I strongly recommend Finding Temple Symbols for families who want to teach and prepare their children for the temple.
I read an advanced copy of this beautiful book. It is the perfect balance between simplicity and depth. Young children will be inspired by the simple shapes and landmarks seen around the temple, but older kids (and adults!) will get more out of the symbols are they ponder their deeper meaning. After reading this book, I wanted to research and learn more about these symbols. It inspired me to read more scriptures and learn more about the Gospel. My 5 year old was so excited when looking at the pages. It made my mama heart happy! The pictures are beautiful and really add to the inspiration on each page. Look for hidden gems on some of the pages and enjoy the beauty all around with cute little Lucy. I can’t wait for my hard copy to get here and have been sharing this book with all my friends. This is something children deserve to know and I haven’t seen any other resource cover this topic.
We live close to the Gilbert Temple. My daughter is amazed with the Temple and can not wait until she can go inside for service. As we prepare for her baptism lashes can learn that the Temple has meaning on service and the way they are built. Cami has captured the explanation in a way children will understand and the illustrations are beautiful. I love this book!!!! It is a great FHE companion for any age! If you are attending an open house, a sealing, or a trip to walk the grounds. Take this book along.
SO thrilled about this book! It's such a wonderful book to help engage our children with the temple experience. I love the connections it makes with God's plan for each of us. And helping our little ones love the temple early is wonderful!! Thanks Cami!!
