Unofficial Supplemental Rules

Hi, my name is Stephen Wood and I am the creator of Dreamland. One of my friends bought Dreamland and came up with some UNOFFICIAL Supplemental Instructions. I thought it would be fun to share them with everyone. Here they are:

Supplemental instructions intended for advanced play to increase difficulty of game.

General instructions intended for novice game play/younger players

All supplemental rules are optional
Board setup: Instead of placing cards randomly for board setup, the current dealer may customize the board, placing any card anywhere on the board prior to the 6 final cards. Each round of play the game board is setup by a new dealer.
Board setup: The final 6 cards that make up the game board have to be Action cards. There cannot be any safe spaces in the final 6 cards of the board. The final Rod of Iron card can be no closer than the 6th card from the end of the board. To win the game, you must roll higher than a 6.
Board setup: For each 2 additional players greater than 4, take an additional 2 cards off the game board during setup (e.g. 6 players remove total of 4 cards, 8 players remove total of 6 cards, 10 players remove total of 8 cards, etc…)
Board setup: Rod of Iron cards are currently unnumbered, so number them 1 through 6 with a marker, on the face of the card.
Game play: If you roll doubles once, roll again. If you roll doubles twice, you get to roll again. If you roll doubles 3 times in a turn, you must go back to start.
Roll card: If a Roll card is played and the instructions are to swap places on the board with another player, the secondary player, whose turn it is not, is required to follow the instructions on the card they are now on, after which normal game play resumes.
ALL ACTION CARDS LANDED ON MUST BE PLAYED
Action cards: Rod of Iron: Roll one die and move to the Rod of Iron card that corresponds to the number rolled. After landing on your new Rod of Iron card, follow directions written on card.
Action cards: River of Filthiness: You are swept downstream. Roll the dice & move backwards on the board the total number roll of the dice OR move to the previous River of Filthiness card, whichever is further. Follow directions of any action cards landed on before ending turn.
Action cards: Great & Spacious Building: Roll the dice & move backwards the total roll amount OR to the previous Great & Spacious Building card, whichever is further. Follow directions of any action cards landed on before ending turn. If you roll doubles you escape the judgment of the Great & Spacious Building, move forward the roll amount, & gain another turn. Follow directions of any action cards landed on before ending turn.
Action cards: Straight & Narrow Path: Roll the dice & then move forward the combined total roll. If doubles are rolled, advance to the next Straight & Narrow Path card, then move forward the roll amount, & gain another turn. Follow directions of any action cards landed on before ending turn.
Action card: Mist of Darkness: Roll one die & go backwards the number of Mist of Darkness cards that correspond to the number on the die you rolled. If you roll higher than the quantity of Mist of Darkness cards behind you, go back to the first Mist of Darkness card on the board. Once on new Mist of Darkness card roll the dice & move back the number of spaces indicated by the total roll of the dice. Follow directions of any action cards landed on before ending turn.
Action card: Tree of Life: Roll one die. If you roll a 1,2, or 3, advance forward to the next closest player on the board. If you roll a 4,5, or 6, advance 2 players forward.
Winning the Game: The first player to reach finish wins. Each player left gets 1 final roll to determine 1st through last place.

I love that this game changes everytime you play it. It kept my family coming back for more. Great Family Home Evening game!

Dream Land Lehi's Dream

We just got the game and played 5 rounds and had 5 winners. Game play was fast and fun. Each time we shuffled the board cards the game changed up. We also modified the rules a bit just for fun.
FHE is always fun. I have several of Mr. Wood's games and we play them regularly for FHE. Good value and family friendly

Fun, Unique and Creative

I love this game! I have a copy we play for Family Home Evening. I love that it's really a board game made from the cards! It's really cool that everytime we play the "game board" changes. I also love how the game board can change while you're playing. I definitely recommend this game to everyone. Two thumbs up!
