This is a beautiful compliation of well known LDS hymns. Tilby's interpretation of the hymns is a welcome addition to what I already have in my CD collection of LDS titles. If you are looking for something quiet, soothing, and calming with a spiritual uplift, this is definitely something you will want to have in your collection. I love this CD!
At first I thought the arrangements were a little understated, until I realized that they were not over-dubbed. No multiple parts recorded over each other. I love Micheal Dowdle, and it is hard to compare anyone to his standard of playing. But these hymns are more basic and simple--and there is a special purity in that. They become more enjoyable with each playing. My favorite song on the CD (the last track) is my favorite Primary song, "My Heavenly Father Loves Me" which is done in a nice jazzy style. Qutie a contrast to the rest of the CD. All in all, very nice to have available for Sundays.
This is a very beautiful compilation of tastefully and truthfully arranged hymns. The artist does a wonderful job conveying the feelings behind the hymns. This album would make a wonderful addition to anyone's Sunday music library, especially if you enjoy well-played solo guitar.
