Savannah McLaughlin is running a little late. Those extra few minutes could mean she may never see her daughter again. The only clue Savannah and the police have to six-year-old Caroline's disappearance is a note with a cryptic verse of scripture. With no signs of progress, Savannah is desperate enough to call the one man she knows can help — the one man who absolutely despises her.
If anyone can find Caroline, it's Major Christopher Dane. The Army often calls on him to discreetly extract people from dangerous situations. But can Savannah trust him and the band of misfits Dane surrounds himself with? Or will the betrayal that took place in their dark past exclude any chance of a bright future?

This book is one of the best Betsy Brannon Green has written. It is really hard to put down, so plan on spending lots of time once you start. A really, really great story...

Initially I was disappointed to learn that Sister Green's newest novel was not set in Haggarty, as I've grown to love those characters. I trust Betsy Brannon Green to craft a good story, so I bought this book and was not disappointed. Sister Green is a fine storyteller and I'm looking forward to more in this series.

This book was absolutely fabulous! I could not put it down, until I was done reading it from beginning to end. I think this is the best book she has written thus far. I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series, Above and Beyond.

This book was one of the best that I have read so far. It kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I was very sad when I had to put it down to go to bed or clean. I didn't like the ending because it requires me to wait for the sequal. I just hope that it won't be too long before the sequal is published.

I've always liked Betsy's books, but I loved this one. I loved the characters, it had a more suspenseful storyline, and I can't wait for the next one! It was time to move on past the Haggerty people (even if they were fun) and we've got a great new group of friends to cheer on.

I got this for Christmas and could not stop reading. I like the ladies from Haggerty but these new heroes are something different and new. Very nice!

I love Green's new characters and the more intense mystery. What a great beginning for a new series.
