Inspired by the true story of a pioneer hero.

Born into slavery and sold as a ten-year-old boy, Green Flake was born torn from his family, yet he always held onto the hope of being reunited. Eventually, he placed that hope in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, which caused Green to sacrifice nearly everything in order to lead the advance party of the greatest Western migration in United States history. Arriving in the Salt Lake Valley on July 22, 1947, two days before Brigham Young and the main body of migrants, Green Flake became a pivotal member of the fledgling community of believers in the West. While the early Saints found refuge and safety in the bosom of the Rocky Mountain, Utah's status as a slave territory meant that Green Flake and other enslaved Black Saints would have to place their trust in God, not in man, along the ultimate push to freedom.

His Name Is Green Flake has been awarded Best Film in 10 different festivals, including the Venice Film Awards, the London Independent Film Awards, and most recently, the LA Film Awards.

Witness a beautiful story full of faith, family, and freedom in the award-winning film His Name Is Green Flake.
