Product Description

This book clearly explains Isaiah's prophecies, teachings, terminology, poetic style, and symbolism. Charts, maps, outlines, illustrations, and alternate translations of the entire book of Isaiah are included. The author uses a "four-dimensional" approach to Isaiah.

Through the historical dimension, the reader learns about the culture and history of the Middle East. The literary dimension enables him to analyze the poetic and prophetic style in which Isaiah wrote. The third dimension reveals Isaiah through the eyes of other prophets.

The last and most important dimension is doctrinal; it explains Isaiah's prophecies and helps the reader apply his teachings. Nearly a verse-by-verse commentary, Isaiah: Prophet, Seer, and Poet offers the reader a clear understanding of Isaiah's writings and strengthens his testimony of the Lord's work.

This book is a rich resource. It's carefully researched and thorough, but highly readable. Brother Ludlow uses historical background and records, along with alternate translations, to reveal multiple levels of meaning in Isaiah's words.

I use this book as a companion study guide when I read Isaiah in the Bible or Book of Mormon. It helps me apply Isaiah's words to my own life and live the gospel more fully. I recommend it highly!

This is the best Isaiah book I have read. Ludlow has a talent of being able to address the issues and topics present in Isaiah in a way that anyone can understand. He shows how to read the poetry in Isaiah and also explains historical facts that help bring that wondeful book to life
