This is a beautiful book that portrays the life of Christ and is especially perfect for Easter. The text is taken directly from the scriptures. It follows the life of the Savior from his ministry to the resurrection. The artwork is beautifully done and matches the text well. The message is quite powerful. I especially loved the message at the very beginning and then how it came full circle at the end. This book can be enjoyed throughout the year and will work well as a gift for any occasion.
This book contains the scriptural account of Jesus Christ's life and teaching, his crucifixion and resurrection. The passages of scripture accompany J. Kirk Richards inspiring and unique paintings. If you're looking for the perfect something to give, you might check out this book. It's an excellent display piece and great for families, grandparents, parents, etc. This is a beautiful book of art of the Savior. The paintings are rendered in an impressionistic style and I like how it invites contemplation over the account of Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection. Richards style is different than a lot of the gift books I have with paintings of the Savior. Richards' style is unique and I'm happy to have this book as part of my collection. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This BEAUTIFUL book portrays Christ's life through pictures and scriptures.
From his teachings to the betrayal-
to his crucifixion to his resurrection-
to his visitations-
A sense of peace and reverence accompanies this book!
This book is one to be treasured and looked at often. The artwork was created exclusively for this book. The size is 11 x 11 for a cherished table-top display.
A PERFECT family book for Easter or Christmas or any day.
This book is a beautiful gift book that combines scriptural references with gorgeous paintings by J. Kirk Richards. The focus here is on Christ and his earthly mission including healing, teaching, and completing the Atonement. I found the use of mostly neutral colors and incomplete faces an interesting touch. It allows the viewer/reader to fill in the details. I appreciated that the paintings of the crucifixion and Gethsemane were powerful but not graphic. The one of the Savior in Gethsemane I found especially powerful. Sometimes pictures really are more powerful than words, but in this book the reader gets the best of both worlds. The book provides a powerful reminder of who Jesus is and what he did which is something well worth reviewing on a regular basis.
This book is beautifully illustrated and depicts the last week of Christ's life in simple words and wonderful pictures. The book can be for any occasion, but with Easter coming up it will be perfect as an Easter gift.
