A Great Book for Moms and Kids
By , Submitted on 2015-02-25

As a book lover and the mother of five, I have long collected picture books that highlight and celebrate the bond between mothers and their children. So, when I saw the new book, MOM SAYS I CAN, at a Time-Out for Women, I knew I had to take a peek. When I did, I discovered that the gifted author-illustrator Jane Cooley captures beautifully in words and pictures the innocence of childhood and the power of a child's imagination. Her book serves as a wonderful reminder of the difference mothers make in their children's lives. I fell in love with the book as soon as I picked it up, but the real test was when I took it home to read to my children. They too immediately loved the book -- the glorious illustrations as well as the engaging storyline. One of the things I appreciate most about this book is that it inspires me to make sure we keep technology in its place in our home (i.e. by turning off the TV and/or computer to let our children go and use their own imaginations in creative play just as the boy in the book used his). -- Debra Sansing Woods, author of MOTHERING WITH SPIRITUAL POWER Book of Mormon Inspirations for Raising a Righteous Family and IT'S OKAY TO TAKE A NAP and Other Reassuring Truths for Mothers Everywhere

I will admit I am bias with the author Judy Cooley. She is a dear friend of mine. Through the years Judy has shown through her artwork that life is simple and beautiful. This new book is just as wonderful as I Love You More. Judy's artwork is just as amazing in my home. The book 'Mom Says I Can' shows us how we if we let our children express themselves in positive abilities we will see the results of a happy child a happy family. I have seen Judy and her husband Eric do this, their children are talented and love life. Thank You dear Judy for sharing more of your amazing artwork and your story telling.
