Product Description

When Chrisy Ross and her family moved to a small-town LDS community — one she affectionately refers to as Maryberry — she underestimated her readiness as a nonmember for what turned out to be a cultural immersion. Sure, she knew Mormons didn't drink caffeine (cough), and they never swore (double cough), but life with family-centered folks would be cozy and wonderful. She could smell the fresh-baked bread just thinking about it.

An easy and enjoyable read

So nice that someone wrote a lot of what I was thinking (but naturally kept to myself) about the Mormon world this Lutheran finds herself in. Chrisy's humorous take on living in "Happy Valley" as a non-member of the LDS faith is often laugh-out-loud funny, but never mean-spirited. This is a good and quick read for non-members and members alike.

Outstanding Read!

As a nonmember, I loved the reality-based, informative and humorous book by Chrisy Ross. She is a real talent! Her often subtle humor kept my interest to the end. Who said you can't live in a 98% Mormon community as a nonmember and not grow to love the differences? Chrisy shows us that love, kindness and compassion are the ingredients for happiness in life.
