Even the title has helped my attitude shift, to realize that I am the luckiest person alive just for the privilege of being a mother! It's full of great practical advice of how to create a family that your children will just love, and be the Mom that you want to be!

This is a great book that does not try and sugarcoat what it is really like to be a mom! It was funny and down to earth and full of great advice. I loved it and passed it off to my sister as soon as I finished it!

I have admired the Eyre family for many years, and did some of their programs with our children. As a young mother, I read Linda's books and was inspired and encouraged to do better. She wrote about her children and we felt like we knew each of them personally. Now Shawni is all grown up with children of her own and I was delighted to find out mother and daughter had written a book together! It is a wonderful book full of good, practical Eyre advice. I love that it is written from the perspective of a young mother, but also from a grandmother who has been through the treanches and is seeing the fruits of that labor. Shawni is a talented photographer and the photographs in the book are just delightful! I bought a copy for each of my daughters and they love the book also. I would recommend this book to mothers and fathers alike!

As I read these pages, there were times I laughed out loud and other times I tried to fight the tears (they rolled and rolled). These ladies know how to capture motherhood moments and embrace them. All of them. The good bad and the ugly! Not only that, they also share creative, constructive, and motivating "secrets" they have used in their journey that I am now trying out myself. It is very encouraging and makes me love being a mother of the good bad and the ugly! This is staying on my night stand. A daily dose will be very helpful!

This is the perfect book for me right now. I'm a full time mother of three young children and have found it hard to always see beauty and purpose in my mothering. This book has helped me see with a new perspective, has given me new ideas and has made me feel like I'm not alone in the difficulties of motherhood. It has helped me to see motherhood more clearly for the amazing journey that it is. The photos really bring emotion to the written words....they capture moments and seeing them has made it easier for me to notice those moments in my own life. I'll read it over and over.

This book is perfect for moms - lots of quick bite-sized chapters full of great "real" ideas and inspiration that can be read in the few precious moments a mom can find! The photos help make the book extra special. If you want a great "pick-me-up" and/or a great present for the moms you know for mother's day - buy this book!

I sent the book to my sister who raised 7 children. She called and said "I wished you would not have sent me that book. Now I have to go out and buy 7 more for my daughters and daughters-in-law." She loved it as much as I did and wants everyone she knows to read it.

THIS IS SUCH A GREAT BOOK. I AM STAYING UP LATE AND WAKING UP EARLY TO READ IT. WHAT A GREAT TEAM LINDA AND SHAWNI ARE IN TELLING THEIR SECRETS. EVERY MOM SHOULD READ IT.

This book is so real. I laughed out loud when I read stories from Linda and Shawni's real-life Mothering experiences. I can feel the love they have for their children through the words they wrote. This book puts Mothering into perspective. It helped me to see the light in the little magic things that happen between me and my kids everyday.
The photography could be a book all its own. Shawni is an amazing photographer, she tells a story through the images alone. The images in this book are little pieces of art just waiting to decorate your coffee table, and to remind you at the same time to find joy in those little moments.

Linda and Shawni have captured the magic and the meaning for so many of us. The stories that they tell are so familiar that you can see a part of your own motherhood in each one. Thank you for reminding me of why I do this each day and of the days when the sun peaks through and you see a higher purpose to the nitty gritty of it all. It's like experiencing a huge sigh of relief.

I loved this book, I bought several more for Mother's Day gifts. It is an easy read full of persepctive, inspiration, secrets, and stories. I couldn't put it down. I even found myself laughing out loud at times. Every mother can appreciate the 'secrets' contained in this book. I will read it again and again. A must-have. The photography beautifully captures the joy of a mother's relationships with her children.

I am currently reading this book and it is WONDERFUL! I sneak in a few chapters every minute I can during the day. I love all the tips and tricks, insight and forsight into motherhood. I am just getting started with my little ones (an 8 month old boy) but this book is helping me realize how fast it goes and how much I want to savor it all! I'm grateful for the ideas and resources they share so I can do the best I can while I am "in the trenches".

This book is amazing. It is just what I needed to give me a little boost in mothering. Some of the things in the book I already do, but I got so many good ideas on how to make my relationship stronger with my children and family. It is always good to reevaluate how your doing things and this book really does that. I would highly recommend this book and then start implementing the secrets in your own families.

This is a fantastic book!!! I loved it! It is so nice to hear other moms speak in a positive way about motherhood! Great real life tips on cherishing the moments of joy that children bring us and wonderful reminders about how short this precious time with our children really is. The best part is that it can be easily read all at once or in little 5 minutes time intervals, each chapter or section is only 2 pages at the most so if you only have 5 minutes you can get a quick little dose of inspiration to holding your head up, taking a deep breath and get back to being the BEST mom you can be!
GREAT BOOK!!!!!! Oh and the photographs in the book are absolutely incredible!

I bought this book two days ago. It has kept me up until midnight the past two nights, and the early morning light found me turning back to its pages again. My children are 17, 16, 12, and 9. I found encouragement and wonderful tips in this book for each of my children. Linda's insight and wisdom made me want to cling to all of these last years, and motivated me to kick it up a notch in some really important areas. Shawni made me love being a mother all over again...and I loved the reminder to make my eyes sparkle! Most importantly I felt like the book gave me a pat on the back, and I felt the two authors cheering me on to become the mother that I want to be. In a world where motherhood is often touted as unthankable hard work, this book reminds each of us what a precious gift it is to be called a mom.

I've read so many parenting books, and A Mother's Book of Secrets is my favorite. Short, easy to read essays (with gorgeous photographs!) from two perspectives: that of a seasoned mother, reaping the rewards of her grown children and one from her daughter, in the trenches of raising her own family. The best of both worlds...great advice with proof it works! This book is not all about the "sweet stuff" of parenting. The real life day-to-day pull your hair out stuff is in there too. It's also not one of those books written by some psychologist who doesn't even have children...these moms have cleaned up poop, dolled out infinite meals, settled hundreds of arguments, but have so many great little tips on keeping motherhood "memorable, meaningful and magnificent." One of those books you'll refer back to again and again...especially when you are having one of those tough days and need a fresh perspective.
