WoW!

In the past I would have to struggle through reading the New Testament, half which I didn't understand. This study guide has made the apostles real for me, and my understanding has skyrocketed. I can hardly put it down, and look forward to the next time I can study! EXCELLENT buy!

I really enjoy the eBook however I have found incidences where the eBook is missing information that is in the hard-book, which I also have.. This has happened at least two or three times with the latest being on page 340 of the eBook where is says President James Faust observed: then goes to Matthew 26 ( in the hardback copy on page 107 the quote exists).

I do like the Bookself exclusive additions..

A Great Companion for Family Study
By , Submitted on 2019-02-04

We've been studying the New Testament as a family this year, as well as in our classes at church. I've really enjoyed having this New Testament Study Guide: Start to Finish during our family morning scripture studies! It has the whole New Testament in it as well as a question-and-answer commentary on the sides that share a lot of scriptural insights.

It's been really convenient and often poses & answers the very questions that our kids bring up or that I'm wondering about as I read!

Clarification from one of the editors

Our team of editors sincerely appreciate those who have purchased and commented on our newest book entitled: The New Testament Study Guide: Start to Finish. We have noticed, however, that there seems to be a possible misunderstanding among a few that this volume might include less commentary than The Book of Mormon Study Guide: Start to Finish. The New Testament Study Guide: Start to Finish has 199 more commentary notes in the print edition and also includes the text of the New Testament. Please do not misunderstand, we appreciate the comments from those who also love The Book of Mormon Study Guide: Start to Finish. We understand how one might take a quick look and conclude that The New Testament Study Guide: Start to Finish includes less commentary, but upon a closer examination, one will notice that the dimensions of The New Testament Study Guide: Start to Finish are larger in every way. The Book of Mormon Study Guide measures 8.9 x 5.9 X 1.33 and The New Testament Study Guide is 9 X 6.6 X 1.5. The New Testament Study Guide also includes over 100 more pages of material. We are interested in your comments and, if needed, corrections and insights.

Even better than the Book of Mormon Study Guide
By , Submitted on 2019-01-13

Not only is this study guide just as extensive as the Book of Mormon Study Guide, but it also includes the scriptural text. I love that it makes it even easier to study the scriptures by gathering everything into one book. I also love that the guide is question driven. Many of the questions I had not considered before. I look forward to using this as a supplement during my preparation to teach youth Sunday School.

I just downloaded it today. The print is easy to read and you can make it bigger. The setup is different from the book. You read a certain amount of scriptures and then it goes into the quotes and explanations. You also get extended content which gives you a reference of where the quote came from. I’ve just started reading and love it already. The iPad version is similar to the Book of Mormon study guide but you get to read the scriptures along with it.

Has anyone downloaded the ebook? Is it easy to read or does it present the visual challenges of small print mentioned by one reviewer?

Makes Me Feel Like a Scripture Scholar
By , Submitted on 2019-01-02

I received this New Testament Study Guide for Christmas and LOVE IT! A must have for the 2019 New Testament Sunday School year. I can’t wait to contribute my new found knowledge in class on Sundays. I love how it connects so many other powerful quotes and references to the New Testament scripture. And the questions it asks are great thought provoking discussion questions for Sunday School lessons. A must have for teachers and anyone studying the New Testament.

Best In-Depth Study Guide Available
By , Submitted on 2019-01-02

This study guide is the best tool I have for studying the New Testament. As I read along in Sunday School or on my own, it provides me with the original text, plus unique, in-depth commentary from church scholars, prophets, and accompanying scripture. It helps me understand even the most difficult of texts. I've never been very good at truly studying the scriptures, but this book really helps me improve the time I do spend.

I really liked the Book of Mormon Study Guide so purchased the New Testament Guide. The comments included here are very good but less than the B of M Guide because of the format.. The print was made very small so the text of the NT could be included. This makes it more difficult to read. Be aware of this if you have any vision problems that prefer larger print. I prefer to use my own scriptures with a separate more easily read guide.

Pretty Amazing Insights and Content
By , Submitted on 2019-01-01

I have both the digital copy and the actual book. The amount of information in the book is impressive and then when you look in digital copy there is even more content added. I love it.

I love the format of the book and how easy they make it to quickly read the added insights to the New Testament. In the first chapter I already learned a few things I had never known or even considered regarding the birth of Christ. I just started the book, but have loved it so far and I cant wait to continue to study with it this year.

The first review made me worry it wasn’t gong to be as in depth as I hoped, but after purchasing it and skimming through the pages I was amazed how comprehensive it actually is. It surpassed my expectation. It’s pretty amazing and the time they must have spent on compiling the info is incredible.

What I love so much about these study guides is how it opens up the scriptures for me. It helps me understand the time period, the meanings of the traditions at the time and why certain events were so important and why they had to happen a certain way. It enriches my study and understanding. Well done!! I would be missing out on a ton of added insight and info if I didn’t have this book.

A superb complement to “Come Follow, Me” for the New Testament this year
By , Submitted on 2018-12-26

I started reading the Church's 2019 “Come Follow, Me” and liked what I was reading but wanted to go deeper. I found the 'The New Testament Study Guide: Start to Finish' a superb complement to “Come Follow, Me” material. In this guide I love the scripture text in the middle with the commentary on the sides. It goes into great depth and is very comprehensive. The prompt questions allow me to focus on the areas I like to pursue. The iPad version goes even deeper than the print version which is amazing.

I love this book! I especially like that this study guide has the actual New Testament text alongside the commentary and questions. As a gospel doctrine teacher in my ward, I feel this will be an invaluable resource. Can't wait to use it while planning my lessons for 2019!

Good, not great
By , Submitted on 2018-12-15

Valletta's Book of Mormon Study Guide is superb, and I had hoped this would be the same caliber. It isn't. In an apparent effort to make the book have the same length as the Book of Mormon study guide -- and appear to have the same depth of content as the Book of Mormon study guide -- the NT study guide republishes the New Testament itself, so a substantial part of the commentary is not commentary at all. This is a significant and disappointing departure from the previous volume. What substance is in the NT study guide is good, there just isn't as much of it as was in the Book of Mormon study guide. As a result, this volume is less in-depth than was the Book of Mormon study guide. What Deseret Book advertises as a "comprehensive" commentary is not comprehensive, and is certainly not as comprehensive as was the Book of Mormon study guide. While this volume is good, I had hoped for more.

This is absolutely as good as the Book of Mormon study guide.

This has to be the best commentary on the New Testament on the market. I am impressed with the layout (I have the digital version and read it on the iPad) and I love all of the different sources sited.
