Product Description

Much has been written about the Book of Mormon’s prominent heroes, such as Nephi, Abinadi, and Alma — but what about the many other characters who played a part in this sacred scripture? This fascinating illustrated book gives vivid glimpses into ancient America through those who had relatively minor roles in the scriptural narrative yet mighty influence and impact between its lines. Engaging text and more than 100 full-color illustrations, timelines, and maps bring to life the contributions of memorable figures such as Aminadab, Zeniff, and Lib, as well as usually unheralded female characters such as the faithful Nephite daughters, Lamoni’s wife, and the maidservant of Morianton. At the beginning of each chapter, author and artist James Fullmer references the key scriptural passages, and at the end of each chapter, he shares insight into the creative decisions that shaped his unique approach. Come along for an unforgettable journey that will excite readers of all ages, inspire them to take a closer look at the Book of Mormon, and help them more fully appreciate this sacred testament of Jesus Christ.

James H. Fullmer has created a stunning and beautiful setting for families of all ages to explore some of the lesser discussed people from the Book of Mormon. Teaching my children from the Book of Mormon has always been important, this is one more added tool in my Mom's Toolbox to help my children understand and love the scriptures. With the maps, the timelines and the extra scripture references, this book enhances my study as an adult. From my children's perspective, the book is just plain awesome. There is nothing like amazing visuals to help children learn. The artwork is simply breathtaking. Whether you are looking for additional study material, or a beautiful book to add to your collection, this book does not disappoint.

This is a great book for all ages! I've been struggling reading the scriptures because they usually put me to sleep but this book really got me back into reading the scriptures because it takes those lesser known heroes and brings them to life using facts from the Book of Mormon. It made me search the scriptures for the references of these heroes and what they have done. Really awesome book and I recommend it to anyone who loves the scriptures and loves a little adventure.

Familar setting, new stories, new insights

James H. Fullmer reaches two audiences with this book. On the one hand, he tells stories that engage and entertain - the kind you'll read to your kids.

On the other hand, his careful study of the Book of Mormon - detailed by engaging end notes - open up scripture students' eyes to new connections and contexts.

If you're interested in drawing more from the Book of Mormon by diving deeper into the lives of the men and women whose stories are hidden between the plots you've heard before, this book is for you.
