I listened to this cassette tape as a kid, and came across it the other day. Once I started playing it I instantly had to sing along to every song! I love the values that these songs teach and am so happy I found this MP3 so my kids can learn from and love them too. All I can say is, can't wait for a fun road trip with these tunes playing and all of us singing along :o) Good times ahead!

After 30 years I still have these tunes floating around in my head from when my Dad first tortured me as a young pre-teen. It really wasn't torture. The values sung really spoke to me. Of patriotism, of what a family should be and of good word ethics. I want my children to have the same tunes in their heads.

I have been looking for these songs everywhere-I'm so glad Deseret Book carries this CD!
My sister and I listened loved this series as kids; now that I am grown I have inherited the Power Tales/Power Tunes set to share with my own children. The books were intact, but the old tapes were shot. After looking everywhere, I was ecstatic to find the music here at Deseret!
At first I thought my 7 and 8 year old boys might think these were too silly and old fashioned so I just gave them the book to look at one day when they were home sick from school and started playing the CD. Since then I catch them playing it several nights a week and humming the tunes all throughout the day. I was so pleased that they could be touched by the positive message of these songs just as I had been several decades ago. These truly are values that transend generations!
To those who didn't grow up with this music: Please understand that each song goes along with a story that illustrates the value. You can buy the book on Amazon (Lael J. Woodbury, 1984). Hope you enjoy these as much as we do!

I did not grow up with this music, but bought it for my children based on the glowing reviews here. I have to admit I was shocked at the cheesiness and the way it insulted not only my intelligence, but that of my children as well. Yikes. , I was astounded that this passes for good children's music. I do not contend that it might teach a child certain values, but there have got to be better means than this music. I wish this site had snippets one could listen to before purchasing the item; it would have saved me the trouble.
