Joseph and Hyrum Smith were, as Wilford Woodruff put it, among "the most noble spirits that ever graced humanity." The same could be said for all the Presidents of the Church—they truly were men for the ages.
Based on the bestselling lecture series, The Presidents of the Church: Insights into Their Lives and Teachings presents intimate biographical sketches of the first fifteen prophets, focusing on events that helped shaped each man to become a great leader in the Church. Using multiple sources, from original writings to personal memory, author Truman G. Madsen recounts close-up stories with intriguing details and highlights each prophet's characteristic traits.
The Presidents of the Church will give readers a richer understanding of the presidents' backgrounds and personalities and illuminate how each prophet was a man for his own season and played an essential role in the unfolding drama of this ast dispensation.

Excellent research and so much information in several short talks. The man is amazing. I thought I knew a lot about these blessed men, but learned much more through this series. God bless him for his tremendous efforts.
This set of lectures is as good as his lectures on the prophet Joseph Smith. He obviously has less time to cover each prophet as he did in the Joseph Smith lectures but this set of lectures is absolutely amazing. The stories told in these lectures will bring you closer to each prophet as an individual and help you better understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.
These CD's are fantastic, but if you are expecting it to be like his first famous Joseph Smith tapes they simply are not. I'm not saying they should be, but I was hoping. Very good very insightful, but if the JS tapes are a five then this is a four.
Again, Brother Madsen brings home not only so many truths about these great men, but adds a unique and powerful witness to their lives and callings. You will love these brethren all the more for having listened to these talks.
