Product Description

Inspired by her Grandmother’s poppies and a love for the beautiful Salt Lake Temple, Joyful Day combines two favorite elements into one picture. Poppies have always been well-loved but also have a lot of symbolic meaning. From honoring those who fought for freedom, to representing peace, eternal life, and even Jesus Christ, the poppy is a bold and striking flower, with a color that is hard to resist. One has to wonder if a view like this could have been possible for the earlier saints finishing the Salt Lake Temple. The name Joyful Day stands for the many special days we can have when visiting the temple, whether to attend for our first time to receive our endowments or to sealed as a family, or the “Joyful Day” it must be to our loved ones on the other side when we help them receive their temple blessings. We also can look forward to the “Joyful Day” of meeting our Savior after being faithful and serving in His house.

About the Author

Mandy Jane Williams

Amanda Jane Williams grew up in the tiny little town of Darlington, Idaho. Known as Mandy Van Etten growing up, she has always had a love for beauty and art that was encouraged by her parents. Mandy met her husband, Bryan Williams in 2005 and they were married in the Idaho Falls temple. Although she had previously taken classes in art and photography, becoming a mother has helped her to find herself as an artist. Beauty, joy, passion, are all intensified when you open your heart to loving others. Little things stand out to you in daily life and you are able to notice and be grateful to them with your artistic eyes. From the way the rising sun catches the eyelashes of a sleeping baby, or the look on a child’s face when Daddy comes home, all of these are an inspiration and a blessing. She currently lives in Blackfoot, Idaho with her husband and four children.

I love this picture. I have not seen it online for sale since I bought it about 4 years ago. It gave me comfort after my husband passed. I too love poppies & we were married in the Salt Lake Temple. I have it hanging over my bed so I see it every night when I say my prayers & miss my husband the most. I was even able to find a bedspread with the same coloring/flowers on it. I find myself retreating into my bedroom for quiet thought & when I am especially sad. The peace I feel is almost immediate.

The first time I saw this on Deseret I thought it was a stunning and an unusual piece of work. With the help of a dear friend in Salt Lake he purchased it for me and shipped the painting for me saving on the Deseret shipping cost. It arrived in Cornwall, UK yesterday and I am so pleased.
The painting really pulls you in to The Temple and the poppies are a lovely idea.Fortunately my wife really loves it too! Unfortunately I do not have a wall to hang it on yet, in fact no house! But it will hang in my mother in laws house for now. I am really pleased, Thank you.

Colorful art worth $49 clearance price
By , Submitted on 2015-02-25

I purchased this when it was on clearance for $49. I paid an additional (required) $25 for shipping. There was a scuff directly on the canvas. I'm trying to track down a professional to remove it. Since this is on canvas, be aware that it wraps around a wooden frame(wooden crisscrosses on the back). The copy I received in the mail didn't quite wrap well around one corner. There is a visible ripple and scuff on the wrapped corner. Hopefully no one will notice because I hung it high above our living room piano. The image is happy, bright, and stimulating to the eyes! Due to quality control problems, I'd recommend to purchase this when it goes on clearance again for $49. Just be patient for the sale! If I was a millionaire, I'd definitely buy a copy for every Latter-day Saint I know!!! It's a "must have"!

Striking artwork

This is a beautiful piece of artwork. Colors are vibrant. Gorgeous on my tan walls and fits right over our upright piano.

Quality is just average. It's basically a plastic printed sheet stretched over a frame. Worth getting on sale, not worth $199 however.

All in all, I really like the piece as it's different than most temple pictures.

Beautiful!!

I just received this beautiful canvas today in the mail. It is even more beautiful hanging on the wall than the picture online. What a great price too!
