About the Author

Patti Rokus

Patti Rokus spent her childhood in rural Oregon wading through streams, building forts and looking under rocks. A sensitive soul, she felt the joy and pain of others as if her own, and yearned to create beauty, connection and peace. Years later, taking a break from a career in technology with Microsoft, British Petroleum, Nike and others, she found her way back to her true loves - nature and God. Patti is still a wanderer, not yet rooted in one place, but can be found pocketing a few rocks on every hike throughout the Pacific Northwest, smiling at the attention from God. She believes that anyone can return to their true nature of connection, innocence and joy; but sometimes we just need someone to hold our hand and together find the answers to who we really are, and why we're here.

If mere rocks can be empowered to 'sing the song of redeeming love,' one can only imagine what sublime witnesses might come from the rest of God's works. If only we had ears to hear and yes to see. . . . Patti, thank you for organizing this inspiring chorus of one of God's least appreciated creations.

Divine imagination

Patti's creativity and imagination are on full display in this book. I love how she invites us to join her in finding and creating beauty. By creating we are tapping into the divinity within us. The simplicity of this book allows us to focus on the divine.

It is appropriate for all ages. When my college-age children saw the prototype of this book, they each wanted their own copy, so I had to order one for each of them when the book was published! Some day I look forward to sharing this and Patti's future books with my grandchildren.

This sweet thought-provoking book brings out tender feelings. It renews my appreciation for the real reason we celebrate Christmas - a fresh new way to teach children the same. It’s a treasure I want to share with my adult children and my grandchildren.
