This is a beautiful book! Sister Marriott is amazing and I loved reading about her personal experiences and the things she has learned throughout her life! She is awesome!
I listened to this on Bookshelf Plus. I loved the simplicity of her powerful testimony of Jesus Christ. It started when she was young and her family was a member of another church. I was very touched as she spoke about her own weaknesses and how the Lord taught her through them as she learned to be teachable and humble.
The narration was superb. It was read by the author and it added the personal touch.
Ever since her first General Conference talk, I have loved Sister Marriott. I love the unique insights she offers, as a convert to the Church. This book was super inspiring and I feel closer to God already, after applying some ideas from it.
The author draws many useful examples from her life, some poignant, some humorous. Many of these examples relate to her roles as a wife and mother, but as a husband and father, I can say this book is not just for women. It is insightful, inspiring, reassuring, and wise. I'm sure reading it in print or digital form would be enjoyable, but I recommend the audiobook read by the author in a personable way.
Love this book. She is a sister after my own heart and I feel like I have a new friend. Thanks for sharing. Love that the author read it in her own voice also with that beautiful southern accent!
I've listened to it over and over. I'm a Relief Society President and yesterday in our early morning PEC meeting I used the story about the importance of reading the Book of Mormon and how it changes our families. It touched the Brethren in that meeting just as it touched my heart. I'd also love to talk to Neill for a while, (I think we’re sisters, cut from the same southern cloth) she’s have me laughing and crying all at the same time ...by the way what did she do with the hotdogs shoved under the door?
Thank you Neill, I’m looking forward to your next book.
It grabbed me when she wrote about Sherri Dew and Emily Freeman coming to her and asking her to write a book because the church needed to hear the testimony of a Southern woman member of the church. I'm sorry this sounds terrible, but when she was sustained to the Young Women General Presidency I thought, "What?! What can this woman from Louisiana possibly know about the church or anything else..." When I first heard about this book I wanted to read it. Now I have. Now I know why she was called to this position. She's wonderful!! Please forgive me for my judgmental attitude. I loved the book and everything in it. I love her honesty and the many issues she addresses. There is so much good information and wisdom in these pages. Thank you Sister Marriott!
I loved this book😍💐.
This book is an amazing and powerful witness of who the Savior can be in our life. I greatly enjoyed this book and have been very inspired by examples of living the Gospel that she gives from her life. I specially like how she talked about her manner of prayer. I plan to adopt her prayer habits because I know they will bring me closer to the Savior. Now I know how I can do that.
I really found this book uplifting and very helpful in helping me to realize what I need to do to find and follow the Savior better. I read this book by mp3 audio, as I don’t see so well right now. I think hearing her read this book was much more meaningful than reading it myself. Learning more about the Savior is my goal for this forward so I can prepare better for what lies in store for me going forward. Thank you Sister Marriott for your insight and inspiration in this book. I will read it again and again.
I listened to this book this past week. I was so inspired and my hope is renewed. Some of my questions were answered.
I love that the Author is the one who read the book - her personality really added to the book - you could also feel her spirit. Thank you Neill Marriott for sharing your spiritual journey.
I loved reading Sister Marriott's first book "Seek This Jesus" in which she shares personal stories and testifies of Jesus Christ. Her love and gratitude for family, friends, the Savior, and his gospel flow from its pages. This book would be a great gift for yourself, family, friends, and a wonderful addition to anyone's library! Get it now!!!!
I listened to the audio book and absolutely loved it! She has such a fun southern accent and delightful narrative voice. Sister Marriott talks about her upbringing in the Methodist faith with good parents who taught her to pray and study the scriptures. She relates the story of how she met the missionaries and about her conversion process. She tells of her marriage and her family life. She shares how she had to let down her parents and give up many traditions because or her faith (like the tradition of getting married in a Methodist church and having her father walk her down the isle. She gives great advice for mothers and for marriage. She talks of dealing with depression, which she herself suffered from after giving birth to one of her children. She talks of suffering and struggle she faced with the death of one of her adult daughters. She is not afraid to show us her faults and short-comings and how she dealt with those and overcame them. She feels real and down-to-earth, like a friend sharing her story with us. She teaches us about being a good disciple pressing forward to the end. She reminds us over and over again that we are children of God and how to draw closer to Him and trust Him. This book is wonderful! I like this book because it makes you want to change and be better. You could listen to or read this book over and over again. It is very enjoyable. I would especially recommend all women. Those who are married or already have children will get the most out of it.
