This book had me hooked from the moment I started reading it and I couldn't help but finish it all in one day! I laughed and I cried throughout the whole thing!
The author does a fantastic job of character development, I felt like I really got to know each person in the book. I loved following Kate (the main character) on her new adventures in the dating world. The hilarious situations she found herself in had me laughing out loud and feeling hopeful for her. It was obvious from the beginning that there was more to Kate's story than was initially revealed, and I loved that bits and pieces were given throughout the book, leaving just enough mystery to keep you intrigued.
This book had some great little twists and a really fun plot. It was witty, thoughtful and never felt dull! Loved it!
The cover of this one…I simply love it!
I loved the way Kate is in this book. She’s a bit of a quirky character and she made me laugh so many times. There’s a part in the first chapter where she karate kicks a swinging door open and makes her aunt’s housekeeper, Zinn, drop a whole bunch of drinks. That scene was so vivid, I could almost see it in my mind. It was interesting to me the way what had happened earlier in Kate’s life doesn’t get brought up for a bit in the plot. I knew something was up with her, but wasn’t sure quite what. Kate is a great mom to her 8 year old son. I loved the way he was the center of her world. It was obvious that she’d do anything she could for him.
There are so many great characters in this one. I loved her aunt Cass and her housekeeper Zinn. Kate’s constant re-writing of the history she had made up for Zinn made me laugh! It was a bit sad that we never actually found out. I also loved Jess. It was kind of fun the way he was always there, especially when Kate did something stupid or wasn’t looking her best. I loved how he goes out of his way to do things with Ethan. I can’t say I really liked Alec, he didn’t go out of his way to do things for Kate, let alone do anything for Ethan. Although, he did provide some funny situations.
The plot of this one was really well done. I loved the contemporary, humorous aspects. This one’s a fun one to read! Go get your own copy.
