Recognized by the Faith Centered Music Association twice as Studio Vocalist of the Year, Katherine first appeared on Kenneth Cope's album Stories from Eden's Garden. About the Author

Katherine Nelson

Born and raised in Southern California, her musical landscape has included everything from route-66 roads of country, classic and alternative rock, jazz, and folk dotting just about every stop musically on the map to shaping her own solid ground. She believes in discovering uncharted territory as well as staying true to the core of where she came from. It's no surprise to Katherine that her journey has lead her to Nashville, having written and recorded out of the same studios as musical legends like Johnny Cash, Sinatra, and the like. Reflecting the heat, shine, and sparkle of the Golden State, Katherine believes music is the bright spot in life's path that inspires us to take big leaps, holds our hands during the hard, and pushes us through to the end.

Amy Grant's voice, with LDS values!
By , Submitted on 2015-02-25

This is the CD that turned my CD collection around. I guess I have reached that stage in my life when the country music (which replaced the pop/top 40), and my light jazz collection just became "part of the world" to me. Being an old guy (retired music teacher in my 50's), I still enjoy the "young" sounds of EFY style music. Katherine has a voice that closely resembles Amy Grant, and I could always immediately identify her on the EFY tracks. So, it was a natural fit to pick up this CD when it came out. My wife thanks me constantly for bringing such quality music into our home. This is the type of music we play constantly at home, and in our cars. I have long been a big fan of Brett Raymond, who is the producer of this CD. His wonderful influence is heard and felt everywhere. The two of them make a great combination. If you don't have this CD yet, you must not have heard of Katherine, or just didn't realize it was her voice you were hearing everywhere else. This is a must have CD, and a great start to collecting the "solo" CDs of many of the EFY artists! Terrific! I'll buy anything with Katherine's name on it.

Strengthens my spirit

She has an amazing voice. I first heard her on Kenneth Cope's 'Stories From Eden's Garden' on my mission, and when I saw that she had a CD later I had to get it. I bought it for my girlfriend for her birthday and she loves it. She listened to it and loves the CD, she would let me know that she enjoyed 'hanging out with Sister Nelson.' So she took it with her on her mission. We are hoping for a new CD from Sister Nelson someday. All of her songs are amazing and uplifting.

I highly recommend it to all!

My family love this cd so much! My daughter Krizalyn 11 years old and Kenneth 9 years old memorized all the selections of songs as we play it everyday in the car and at home. It is the only CD I would bring in a long family trip. Katherine Nelson expressed her feelings through music on how our Heavenly Father are mindful of each of us. My daughter loves to sing, 'You can let me down'. She thinks the lyrics is a song of a mother to a daughter and how my relationship to her is like, I really feel good when she said that. This Cd is highly recommended to anybody. I give Five Star!

The best CD I have purchased in a long time!

I have been a Katherine Nelson fan ever since I first heard her on EFY CDs. I first heard 'Sometimes He Lets it Rain' on the Women of Destiny CD and it instantly became my favorite song. Katherine has an amazing talent for singing and songwriting, and this CD is absolutely breath-taking and well worth the wait!! Every song on this album is wonderful and very heart-felt. I recommend it for anyone who has ever needed a spiritual boost! Let Katherine's voice touch and soothe your heart.

This is the most beautiful CD in my collection of inspirational music.

I purchased this CD not knowing anything about Katherine Nelson. I have a lot of inspirational music, but I can honestly say that this CD is my favorite! Katherine has the most beautiful voice and the message in each song is so uplifting and beautiful. I love to listen to it at work, at home, in my car, anywhere... it seems to keep me grounded and give me that peaceful feeling that I long for in a busy world. I can't wait for her next CD to come out. Thanks Katherine.
