I'm surprised how good this book was
so slow that i kept thinking it would get going any moment, nope.. unrealistic storyline
This book made me question why Im a fan of Clair Poulson.
I tried to finish this book. I honestly tried. But for heavens sake it was pathetic. Twins involved in a murder who done it. The wannabe hero uses his black belt karate skills to kick some butt. He has way too many women wanting to marry him. I mean seriously, please. Is it possible to get anymore fantasy like? The only thing it's missing is unrealistic sex scenes to go along with the unrealistic story. Dumb.
I liked this book a lot. It was entertaining and interesting. Sure a one week love story with four options is a little far fetched, okay really far fetched, but it kept me reading. I truly enjoyed it.
I listened to this book with my husband and 14 year old son. I had a harder time than they did but the legal part of the storyline was SO off. There are things that just are not how the law works, even in Utah. We have a law practice so I’m sure I’m more sensitive to it but more research is definitely needed. That and the sudden falling in love in less than a week when everyone else also wants him as well as his currently married ex wife who days before was screaming threats at him was far fetched. I stayed at it for the mystery which was good
Okay, I’m not usually a negative reviewer, but there were a few things that really grated on me the whole book. 1. Referring to grown adult women as “girls”. Girls are under age 12, or what “adult-oriented-businesses” call their “entertainers”. No. No. No. Women are not “girls”. 2. The main character was pursued by women bearing baked goods. Come on! Really? It was a bit comical in its repetitiveness in one section of the book. Seems sexist-stereotypical. Is that how Vernal Utah singles scene really does things? Otherwise, the story, very linear, but piqued my curiosity enough to finish it. Of course, any novel I attempted would not be nearly this good... as I know it’s hard to write a good story.
Another mystery from Claire Poulson that kept me engaged to the end. There is mystery, intrigue, and a bit of romance mixed in. There were several time I thought I knew whodunnit -- and in the end I was wrong on all counts.
