While it is true that FOURTH WITNESS is the highlight of this DVD collection (telling the little known story of the fourth person who allowed to witness the sacred Book of Mormon plates), the other two inclusions are very interesting also. Richard Dutcher, who would later open the door to Mormon themed films with his GOD'S ARMY, BRIGHAM CITY and STATES OF GRACE, here as a student at BYU captures the one woman stage presentation of the beloved pioneer poet Eliza R. Snow. I found this to be fascinating as Eliza hast to come with terms as to follow President Brigham Young out West or remain behind. The third entry uses dance to express itself.
Fourth Witness, the first film about Mary Whitmer, was wonderful, but the other two were just weird and boring and not at all worth watching. Was it worth $12.95 for one good film? Maybe.
I can't tell you how NOT excited I was by this DVD. I wished I'd never spent the money. While the first part was just okay, the rest was awful. Couldn't even force myself to sit through it all.
