Product Description

Jane Napierski is back at work at the job she loves—being a personal assistant to her friend Sienna Blake, a rising star actress. The duo is on location in Virginia Beach to film Sienna's new TV series, along with costar Reed Forrester—the man with whom the world thinks Sienna is in love. Wrong.

Sienna's heart actually belongs to her fiance, Craig, a Navy Seal with the Saint Squad. Craig must fly under the radar if he is to keep Sienna safe from this world of terrorists and toxic bombs. And Reed has no problem pretending to date his old friend Sienna simply because it means he can spend time learning more about Jane. Making a TV series is grueling work but not nearly as difficult as the treacherous adventure that is about to begin with a simple photo taken in the wrong place at the wrong time—an image worth killing for.

When Craig returns to the United States to spend time with Sienna, he's not expecting to spend that time protecting her and Jane. Frightening incidents targeting the two women rapidly escalate, and as Craig and his Saint Squad investigate a tangled conspiracy, they find themselves tracking, here at home, the terrorists they have searched for across the globe. But can they shut the terrorists down in time to save Jane, Reed, and Sienna?

Great book

Fun read

This book is for people that like a combination of romance, action, and suspense.

It was wonderful to be able to read another book from one of my favorite series: The Saint Squad. These books are about a group of LDS Navy Seals and the adventures they encounter on the job and the women in their lives.

Tripwire is a little different from some of the other Saint Squad books. This novel doesn't fully center on just a Saint Squad member, this time Craig, but on his soon to be wife actress Sienna, and her friends Jane and Reed. Many of the squad do appear in this book, but a lot of focus is on Jane and Reed getting together. All of the action centers around some terrorists that ended up in a photo of Jane and Sienna at the airport. From there, the two women are targeted and it's up to the Saint Squad to protect them and save their lives many times. There's always good character interaction with witty dialogue in a Traci Hunter Abramson book. The romance is good and realistic. The action is anything from car chases, to shootouts, and chemical bombs. This book kept me up late at night because it has the "Just One More Chapter" syndrome woven into it's pages. Honestly, it was SO hard to put it down because I just had to see what would happen next.

This book is for people that like a combination of romance, action, and suspense. I know it's best to read the other nine books in the series first, but you could easily pick this up not having read the others. I can promise you though, if you do, you'll be racing off to read the other books in the Saint Squad series.

Not up to the author's capabilities

I have read ALL of Abramson's works and I mean ALL. I am one of her biggest fans. I have never read a book that I did not like, but this is one of them. The story premise was very interesting and I thought you would have written another winner with this idea. But my husband and I could only read 80% of the book. We both could not get past the ridiculousness of the actions of the characters, their dialogue or the situations they found themselves in. We kept hoping things would get better, so that is why we struggled through 80% and did not give up sooner. We just could not fathom that the book would not improve. We love Traci's books and thought for sure the story would redeem itself.

What we found annoying was that we were able to predict what the characters would say next, and many times I would know what would happen next. I made silly predictions about how a person would respond to what another character said and I was shocked that the character would actually say such cliche words. I really wanted to like this book. I hope you write another great Saint Squad or suspense book soon. Until then, I will be anxiously waiting for your usual fantastic book.

A very enjoyable book, just the right amount of intrigue, romance, faith and heart stopping action.

Love that you never quite know what's coming next in this one!

Oh. My. Goodness! I loved this book! I loved the characters, the plot, the way the book pulled me in from the very beginning! The way Traci Hunter Abramson writes these books is just phenomenal, she does such a great job!

I loved that this book has so many main characters. You get to see what’s going on from so many different points of view, even from the point of view of the bad guys, and that just makes the whole thing easier to understand and even more mysterious than it would be.

There’s Jane, she’s the personal assistant to movie star Sienna Blake, who we first met in Spotlight. Jane is moving from California to Virginia Beach, Virginia, to be there as Sienna works on a TV show on location. The two women not only work together, but they’re good friends as well. I love how organized Jane is, she’s great at making sure things work as they’re supposed to.

There’s Sienna. Sienna fell in love with Craig in Spotlight, but because Craig is on the Saint Squad, he and Sienna feel that it’s best if she has a pretend boyfriend to draw the attention off him. That works out great, because Reed, Sienna’s co-star in the new TV show is there and willing to be a pretend boyfriend and it’s great publicity for the show. But it also leads to some confusion with Jane not knowing that’s what’s going on.

Throughout the book you see things through Jane, Sienna, Craig and Reed’s eyes. I like each one of these characters and I was rooting for a happy ending for all of them.

The plot of this one has tons of danger around every corner. The reader never quite knows who will be in danger next or where it will come from, much like the characters in the book. It’s one of those things that the reader can know what the bad guys are going to do next, but the main character doesn’t and no matter how much the reader yells at them, they’re not going to!

I LOVE these books by Traci Hunter Abramson! I can’t wait for the next one!

Riveting action-thriller
By , Submitted on 2018-04-25

This romantic suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. The Saint Squad is a group of religious young Navy SEALs who work together to thwart terrorism around the world. Craig, a member of the squad, is engaged secretly to marry Hollywood star Sienna later in the year. They are keeping their engagement secret so his name is not in the press since he works undercover. Sienna’s assistant, Jane, is falling for Reed, her costar, but he is staging a relationship with Sienna to throw the press off her and Craig. Sound confusing? It can be. There are terrorists trying to kill the Hollywood star, and the SEALs are playing a chess game with them, trying to figure out their next move before it’s too late. True love and lives are at stake in this thriller. I liked the short chapters that helped keep characters and scenes from getting confusing. The action was well done and the mystery and suspense were top notch. The romance was okay (4 out of 5), but the action plot made that an okay trade-off. It’s riveting, and the ending is awesome! Nail-biting to the bitter end. So good. ***I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Another Great Addition to This Series!

Yay! for another book with the Saint Squad! I love this military based series that gives me light suspense and a bit of romance as well. What I really love about this series is that it's a group of friends and they are in every book, sometimes in the spotlight, sometimes in the background but always there. It gives the series such a feeling of continuity and family. I love it.

This book actually has two characters from the last book, Craig and Sienna, prominently in this book as well. Reed is a newcomer on the scene and Jane steps into the spotlight with him. I enjoyed the setting and I'm longing for a beach house just like Sienna's or Reed's- but without the bombs and stress.

This was an enjoyable read from beginning to end. I always love Traci Abramson's books.

Content: some violence, kissing. LDS fiction so there are some mentions of religious things- going to church and praying.

Looking for a Love Story?
By , Submitted on 2018-04-20

This book is clearly more of a love story written specifically for LDS readers than a story of international terrorism. The author attempts to throw in a few surprises designed to be suspenseful but the outcome is too predictable and unrealistic. The addition of not one, but two Navy Seal squads (albeit one is in training) made up of LDS Navy Seals that the Navy was good enough to put together is beyond fantasy. I did listen to the whole book, more out of curiosity than interest. I don't think too many men will get a lot out of this, especially if you're looking for just a cleaner version of a David Baldacci or Tom Clancy story, but the sisters might enjoy it for it's very predictable ending love story if you can look past the rediculousness of some of the situations and scenarios.
