As a family we were very impressed with this movie. The quality of the story and acting was very good, and the story was even better. The ideas in the movie are difficult, but handled responsibly in the movie. The PG13 rating is appropriate due to some prison violence and adult themes, so parent should be careful with younger children. Overall it was very moving and inspirational.

There are so many great bits of wisdom in this compelling story. Love, loss, forgiveness, service, family, friendship, community, judging or accepting others who are different, etc.
Based on a true story, well acted and produced. This is a great movie for families to watch (teens and up) and talk about together.
