This is a great resource for a book that is tricky to understand. It is evident that the authors did extensive research and drew from their backgrounds in areas like LDS gospel doctrine and Biblical Hebrew. The book is very organized and easy to follow. One thing I especially like is how each chapter starts with an explanation on how it can apply to us today. I think there is something here for both scholars and average members.
This is a significant study on Isaiah--very well researched. I appreciate the parallelisms, the comments and insights, and the verse by verse study. Every page was helpful and now when I have questions about Isaiah, I turn to this work.
While the book has some valuable insights on it there are too many cases where it seems, the authors only half researched a subject resulting in making it more difficult to gain a proper understanding of the message Isaiah is trying to share.
In the print version of the book, the authors do an extensive job of comparing parallelisms and use different fonts like italics and underlining to highlight these words. In the ebook, there aren't any of these highlights. Not much point in getting the ebook.
I thoroughly recommend this book to everyone. The three authors of this book have done a tremendous job putting together, in one volume, a tour de force of faith promoting scholarship. The book contains the text of Isaiah with linguistical emmendations where necessary (Dr. Parry is Professor of Hebrew at BYU) and a commentary on key verses. The reader is met with Hebrew insights, doctrinal teaching from restoration scripture, and application teachings. This work is a credit to the LDS community.
