Product Description

In November of 1833, the state of Missouri turned a blind

eye as hundreds of its peaceful inhabitants were hunted down

and driven from their homes in the dead of night. Against this

impending strife, a young man with a divine vision leads a

people against the aggression of an anti-hero with a

vulnerable past.

The Work and The Glory: American Zion sets the story of

the fictional Steed family against the historically factual

backdrop of the Mormon people's move into the West.

Divided by their diverse reactions to a nascent ideology, the

Steeds struggle to hold together as the strength of their

convictions and their filial bonds are tested.

The stirring narrative of the faith that led a persecuted people

to Missouri and beyond is one of the most poignant untold

tales of American history. It is the account of a valiant struggle

to exercise the rights promised by a fledgling nation. The

Work and the Glory: American Zion unearths the story of

the passion behind the movement which eventually launched

the largest American migration and the colonization of the

West: the vision of a promised land in America.

this story did lift up my heart towards the Steed family and also to the Prophet Joseph Smith life. I love the story very much is just base on how the missionary goes out and preach the Gospel and people just reject it they don't know what they are missing out..I love all 3 The work and the Glory..

A to be continued movie

After watching The Work and the Glory I, I had huge expections for this film. I had anticipated not only being informed but aquiring further understanding of the next "stage" of our forefather's history. My saddness came from the way the movie ended. In fact, there didn't seem to be an ending--it felt like there needed to be one further frame to the movie which indicated that the story was TO BE CONTINUED. Had I realized this prior to viewing the movie, I think I would have been okay with it. Not anticipating this, however, I was disappointed.

Series . . .

I love watching this series, but I hate how long in between we had to wait for them to release. They have a definate unfinished quality to make you crave more.

Good movie, but not as good as the first one. Still definitely worth watching.

Good follow-up to the first movie
By , Submitted on 2015-02-25

I still haven't read the books, but I have really enjoyed the movies. The second movie wasn't as captivating as the first. But, it obviously was more of a set-up movie for the third. And, it was just as enjoyable.
3 1/2 Stars.

Love the books, love the movies

I only wish there could be more movies and it followed the storyline to the end. Great movie.

I agree

The movie is ok, but it's nothing compared to the book. It's probably better if you haven't read the book. There is so much cut out and condensed, that for someone who has read it, it's a very choppy.

very well done

I love watching all three of the Work and Glory movies, over and over again. I really wish they would continue making more! I would how ever be careful watching this one with your children. Some parts may frighten them.

These are my favorite movies to curl up and watch on rainy days. My boyfriend who isn't LDS even likes to watch them. I think they're great teaching tools for non-members.
