High praise from a voracious reader

I only choose five stars 'cause there isn't an option for ten. I have found few WWII novels that have gripped my attention like these books have. I love their uniquely religious flavor as Sandra Grey's characters struggle to keep the laws of the land -- moral people in an impossibly amoral situation. I was touched with the strength of the German and Russian Latter-Day Saints, and the stories feel true; well-researched, but still fresh and vivid.
I was given the first book in the trilogy by my wonderful mom, who knew I was having a particularly dreadful bout of morning-sickness. I crouched in the bathroom (the farthest room in the house from the kitchen smells) and read for hours, finished the first one, ordered the next two read them as well. Voila! Morning-sickness cured!!!
