Product Description

F. Enzio Busche, emeritus member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, was born in Germany in 1930, three years before Hitler's rise to power. Fifteen years later, when World War II ended, Enzio was a prisoner of war, having been drafted into the German army at age fourteen. The war left Enzio with many questions: Is there a God? What is the purpose of Life? What happens after death? In time, he learned the answers. Yearning for the Living God is a collection of Elder Busche's experiences — both before and after his conversion — and an account of the life-changing awakening that can come to all who search for truth in this world.

I love this book. I learned a lot of information that I had never thought of before. But so many ways he was blessed and ways he blessed others because of his conversion...

This is a beautiful and inspiring book. It was translated into German in 2015, under the name 'Meine Suche nach dem lebendigen Gott: Gedanken aus dem Leben' and published by Leipzig University Press. (Leipziger Universitätsverlag). It would be great to see Deseret Book offer the German version for sale as well.

I love this book, and highly recommend it. It has made me think a lot about my own spiritual experiences.

I had the goosebumps so many times while reading this book. It made me see life differently and desire to follow the spirit more in my own life to be worthy of experiences and peace that Elder Busche had. Loved it! Worth the read. Could not put it down.

Loved this book SO much!

This book was so enjoyable to read that it was hard to put down. I loved his conversion story and still laugh that he said he'd only joined the church if he never had to hold a calling or give a talk. We see how well that worked out for him! haha I, also, learned so much about how the Spirit speaks to us. It's really changed things for me. This is a must read!

We read this book as a family during our vacation to Yellowstone. What a wonder. To read of the history of Elder Busche and his family. To learn of some of the stories of the pioneers of Europe in our day. Inspiring. Thank you for sharing Elder Busche. Dein Weille geschehe. Can't want to get back to the mission field. Vielen Dank.

This biography was honest, intense and showed powerful testimony regarding how the gospel can affect our life. It is a little uncomfortable in the beginning when the author is giving the German civilian perspective of WWII.

Amazing author - amazing book!

Besides the scriptures, there is hardly a book that would uplift and inspire me more than Elder Busche's Yearning for the Living God. This book actually makes you a better person and it's hard to put it down once you start reading it. Without a doubt one of the best books I've ever read.

The biography of Elder Busche is inspiring and uplifting and I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it.

Best book I've Read in Years

Elder Busche was my mission president from 1979 to 1981 and I attended various conferences and meetings where he spoke. It was his unusually humble and moving and even entertaining style of speech that impressed me and as a result I wanted his words to go on all day if possible. As soon as I finished it, I started over reading again to pick up the jewels that got past me the first time around. I wish everyone in the church and most of them out of it would read it. It will change your life for the better, and it will do it immediately.
