This book is full of great advice including many quotes from LDS Church general authorities conference talks. I really loved the way the author put them all together. She used comforting quotes from some of my favorite talks.
I wished for more personal experiences from the author. She shared a few, but in the final chapter she does share a huge personal experience. I loved that she talks a bit about how she knows through this experience that she is loved and blessed.
This book goes right along with what we've been teaching our Sunday School class this month about the blessings of obedience, even using some of the talks we've been teaching from. I love that Heavenly Father has provided a way for us to make mistakes and still be able to find a way back. I'm so grateful for that knowledge in my life.
How many times have you prayed and felt nobody was listening? Have you ever felt like there is no hope? Did you ever wonder why there is so much pain and devastation if God truly is there and loves us?
Theses are just a few questions addressed in this very well-written and uplifting writing of author/editor, Kathryn Jenkins Gordon. In this commentary, she offers deeper insight into the reasons for suffering and trials, in preparation for a more advanced eternal life.
In, You Are Loved, she presents a deeper understanding of the life and Atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and how one can better apply it to his/her life.
By doing so, life in general will be more bearable.
In addition to the wonderful insights, she also shares a few personal tragedies she has had occur in her life. She has "been there, don that" and has acquired this wisdom and understanding she now shares.
This is a book most individuals are in need of reading and receiving comfort from, even when he/she isn't sure it is all true. Itwill definitely offer "food for thought".
This receives a Five Stars rating from me.
