Born in 1775 in rural New Hampshire, Lucy Mack Smith was the youngest daughter of 8 children of Solomon and Lydia Gates Mack. From those humble and obscure beginnings this great and faithful woman rose to occupy a singular place as the honored First Mother of the Restoration. As the mother of Joseph and Hyrum Smith she was then and still is a revered exemplar of faith and courage. Her two martyred sons became all that they were in large measure because of the mother who taught them. This documentary tells the story of her life, largely, in her own words.
